Synopsis
When her great-great-grandDaughtEr visits with questions regarding their ancestry, an elderly woman recalls the story of herself coming-of-age as a Black woman in the 1940’s, her broken home and family, A mystery man, and the forever unknown stOry of what happened to her mother, an abused housewife, with hidden ties to one of americas most horrid incidents; the black wall street massacre.

Insight:
the reason for writing “florence 1900-“ was simply to honor the moment when our life comes to an end. No matter your beliefs or perspective, when it’s time for us to go, we have a beginning and end date. Now, Imagine Not having An end date.
My great grandmother grew up never Knowing Her mother because one day she left and never came home. It is a mystery The flanagan family, to this day, Has been trying to solve. With there being so many possibilities i thought to Select the more “Lighter” options. While this show was still in the works, my great grandmother passed awaY, november of 2023. I felt it was mY top PrIority to let her know that her life meant something, and The love she gave us was unmatched.
Furthermore, At the time of working on the story, i was engulfed in black businesses and supporting and wanted to Give a push for audiences to educate themselves on black-american history.
